Clients describe me as “warm, honest, direct, open, helpful and flexible.” I take a no-nonsense approach to therapy. I have been on both sides of the therapy “couch” and know what it’s like to share your inner-most fears, secrets and goals with a therapist. I don’t expect your trust. I will earn it. I believe therapy is a two-way street, and I will work with you. There is no magic or mystery, I will let you know what I think and how I can help.
As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve current challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will remove long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that are holding you back from experiencing a more meaningful life.
I have helped people suffering from addictions and eating disorders for over 30 years. I use Cognitive-Behavioral, Maudsley-informed, Relational, Interpersonal, DBT, psychodynamic and 12-Step models in my practice. I believe in doing what works. I keep current with APA research and apply what I learn to practice.
