EDTC Welcomes Dr. Vicki Berkus!

Dr. Vicki Berkus MD, PhD, CEDS is now the newest member of our clinical team here at Eating Disorders Treatment Center!

Dr. Berkus is a renowned psychiatrist and eating disorder specialist who will focus on working with EDTC patients in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and provide expert consultation on treating eating disorders at all levels of care.  Dr. Berkus will be utilizing the ever-expanding applications of telemedicine to assess and evaluate EDTC patients’ psychiatric needs with local onsite support by our resident clinical and medical staff.

Dr. Berkus specializes in adolescent and adult psychiatry, the full spectrum of eating disorder diagnoses, and sports psychiatry. She is an International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) certified eating disorder specialist (CEDS), a past president of iaedp, and is a current iaedp executive board member and head of the iaedp education committee.

Dr. Berkus is active in promoting certification and education in the field of eating disorders for professionals. She is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED), The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), The American Society of Bariatric Medicine (ASBP) and the International Society for Sports Psychiatry (ISSP). She has authored numerous articles on psychiatry and eating disorders as well as the highly acclaimed book 10 Commitments to Mental Fitness.

Most recently, she was in private practice in Oro Valley, Arizona and served as the Medical Director for the newly established geri-psychiatric inpatient program at Oro Valley Hospital. In addition to her role with EDTC, LLC, Dr. Berkus is also the Medical Director for the BrightHeartHealth.com new tele-psychiatric eating disorders program, and an advisor for Remuda Ranch Eating Disorder Programs at The Meadows in Wickenburg, Arizona.
