Our Specialties

We Specialize in Treating All Forms of Eating Disorders

Here at the Eating Disorders Treatment Center, our staff specializes in treating older children, adolescents, and adults with eating disorders and related issues. We provide this treatment in individual, family and group sessions according to the client’s individual therapy plan. Although most people suffering from an eating disorder are female and often come to us as adolescents, we treat both males and females of all ages. In fact, we see as many adults, some of whom have had their eating disorder for decades, as we do young people.

Among the many eating disorders and related diagnoses we treat are Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa; Compulsive Exercise , Food Addiction, Binge Eating Disorder, Night Eating Syndrome, Laxative Abuse, Pica, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Body Image Distortion. More information on most of these diagnoses can be found by clicking the links on this page.

Eating disorders can manifest themselves in people with every psychological diagnosis in the book. This can include depression and/or anxiety, as well as personality or bi-polar disorders. Eating Disorders and related issues are often the result of past trauma or abuse. It has also been documented that a high percentage of women suffering with binge eating disorder have some history of sexual abuse. Our Clinical Director and staff are experienced in treating a variety of trauma diagnoses, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and other dissociative disorders. At EDTC, we have the compassion and expertise necessary to work with our clients. We help clients to explore, process, and try to resolve or at least understand the underlying issues. Often, these underlying issues are what make addressing the eating disorder so difficult for most people.
