As a social worker, I view mental health work as an integral part of social justice. My dedication to social justice, inclusivity, and helping others empower themselves reflects my compassionate and transformative approach to mental health practice. I strive to ensure patient’s feel like they are in the driver seat of their healing journey. My goal is to utilize my expertise to help you navigate that journey. As a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community I have a layer of cultural competence and understanding that marginalized communities do not always get to experience in therapy.
I received my Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA focused on social policy and practice with an emphasis on Women and Gender Studies. Post my undergraduate degree I worked as a medical case manager supporting those with an HIV/Aids diagnosis. That work fueled me to obtain my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. This led me to further support the LGBTQIA2S+ community and work in a psychiatric facility supporting 40+ patients with acute mental health diagnosis including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and bipolar disorders. Supporting folks that have been historically marginalized is my passion. I am now a Licensed Master of Social work continuing to support folx managing mental health, identity development and eating disorders.
